5 Stars Yes, this one!
This book quite simply has changed my life in a very positive way. I know this will sound fantastic, but, listening to this audiobook was like suddenly being given the key to the door to success on projects big and small. Really. I could not figure out why I seemed almost paralyzed when confronted with projects. Why, I’d always wondered, was I so unable to move forward??? Well, now, thanks to this brilliant author, I know what was holding me back !!! Sometimes, we can unwittingly be our own biggest critic and judge. We do this by the way we think about the job or project at hand. We self talk ourselves out of even trying, sometimes!!! Dr. Fiore taught me how to change that and since listening to this book 2 weeks ago, I have completed one truly enormous project for which there was a deadline. My family was astounded, and, quite honestly, so was I - That something I had wanted to do, had been planning and dreaming about …. was DONE as I wanted it to be done!!! I have given a copy of this book to each of my sons. I believe anyone who wrestles with procrastination will benefit from reading (or LISTENING) to this book!!! Best wishes for YOUR success!

5 Stars Life Changing
The Now Habit has revolutionized my way of approaching work, play, and life! Very helpful, practical and change-inspiring! For anyone who’s struggled with procrastination, this is a powerful look at the reasons behind it, and specific tools to help overcome it for good!

4 Stars Very helpful - use with other books for best results
I found this book very helpful — easy to read, smart and dead on in it’s observations of why people procrastinate and which approaches tend to work (and which don’t). From the start, the author makes clear that, for most people, beating yourself up isn’t the way to beat procrastination. If it was, you’d have solved your challenges long ago. He explains how procrastination is often a rational defense against fears of failure or success. This alone is worth the read and the book delivers quite a bit more. I also liked the book’s tone, which is conversational and matter-of-fact. Fiore doesn’t talk down or suck up or try to “motivate” you.

Be aware that while the The Now Habit offers a good practical approach to fight procrastination, its aim isn’t to give very detailed and in-the-weeds tips for getting organized. If you’re looking for that kind of detail, I agree with several other reviewers that David Allen’s “Getting Things Done” nicely complements Fiore’s book.

Finally, can’t help mentioning Covey’s “Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.” If you’re procrastinating, maybe this 300+ pager isn’t ideal (and it’s also a bit preachy), but it makes at least one key point a bit more directly than Fiore. The advice is not to be so focused on getting things done that you forget to ask “what do I want to do” and “what matters to me.” Covey’s good reminder is that doing things MORE EFFICIENTLY is no substitute for making good choices in life. Each of these books has its strengths but I think Fiore’s is the best place to start. Just hope this doesn’t sound like an Amazon pitch (”better together”) to buy more books…!

4 Stars Overcoming and moving forward
This book was pretty good. It does talk about some of the things that i heard before in other self-help book but for the most part, the exercises are good. My take away in the book is not feeling guilty for my so called not getting anything done and just being able to say NO, without any guilt. That was really refreshing and I am now doing that and taking a stance. I personally had some other things going on with me that was allowing me to procrastinate and now that i have tackle those issues, i am now focus once again. So, i cant really say the book helped but it is a good reference tool to use. good luck

4 Stars Useful, makes you think
Like all self-help books, to a large extent, it reinforces a lot of what you already instinctively know. The style of writing is not as smooth as that of a Steven Covey but is engaging nevertheless. I found the book a useful read in helping me recognize and deal with occasional procrastination, especially in being sure to break a task down into small, manageable bit-sized pieces that are more easily digestible.
