The Book of Mormon
For the twelve million members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints worldwide (six million in the United States), The Book of Mormon is literally the word of God, a companion volume to the Bible that contains the everlasting gospel. With the faith now of one of the fastest-growing religions in the country, Doubleday is proud to publish this first official trade edition of The Book of Mormon by special arrangement with the Church.
According to Mormon belief, The Book of Mormon was inscribed on golden plates by generations of prophets, quoted and abridged by the prophet-historian Mormon, and buried in the ground by Mormon’s son, Moroni. Fourteen centuries later, in 1823, the angel Moroni led Joseph Smith to the plates hidden in a hillside in upstate New York. Smith translated the ancient language into English through divine revelation.
The Book of Mormon narrates the historical, religious, political, and military events that shaped and continue to inform the Church’s teachings. The publication of this edition offers the opportunity to explore one of the largest denominations in America today.

1 Stars A Good Book for Those Dumb Enough to Buy Into its Bullsh**
The reviews posted about the Book of Mormon will be as divided as the bipartisanship of the United States. There are two kinds of people in this world: skeptics and blind followers. I’m sure the book has changed millions of lives….but for the better? That is a subjective argument.
Let me verify the ridiculous claims the Book of Mormon makes…white Native American’s…horses native to the New World…wickedness so conveniently correlating with dark skinned people. All of these claims have been debunked by the scientific community.
The Book of Mormon is a great book for people who would rather be told what to believe than research truth on their own. If you have any critical thinking skills at all…you will most likely not believe anything in this book.
5 Stars Always inspires and uplifts me
I always find inspiration and insight in reading the Book of Mormon. It is of tremendous value to me. The Book of Mormon, along with the Bible, helps me to know Jesus Christ, and to feel his love in my life. This book contains a unique promise, which is that after reading and pondering the Book of Mormon, you can “ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.” I have done this, and have received a clear and unmistakable answer that the Book of Mormon is indeed from God. I am grateful to have the Book of Mormon, along with the Bible, to inspire me and to teach me.
5 Stars The Book of Mormon
An incredible read which traces the journey of a prophet and his family from Jerusalem to the Western Hemisphere in roughly 600 BCE. It has a unique insight into the dealings of God with the ancient inhabitants of America. The style of writing would be the same as that of the King James version of the Bible but the individual writers of the translated work differ greatly in not only content but lessons taught. It should be considered as a book of scripture containing the mind and will of God to this ancient people. It spans a history of appx. a thousand years, to 400AD. It also contains a written record of a group of people led to the Western Hemisphere around the time of the Tower of Babel and was written by the prophets of the Lord. The book is extremely insightful and covers the visit of Jesus Christ to the ancient inhabitants of the Americas after his resurrection in Jerusalem. As such it ties in the accounts of virtually all Native American tribes regarding the “visit of a great white bearded God” to their ancestors. It relays his council to these people. The wording is sublime and has hard hitting suggestions for daily living, relationships with family, spouses, fellow man, & God.

If you’re looking for direction in your life, this book is for you! The Book of Mormon has helped me understand life, its trials and challenges more than anything else. I know that it words are true. They speak of our Savior Jesus Christ and teach how to live the way of happiness. It is an account of the peoples of the ancient Americas, and includes a visit Christ made here after His ascension into heaven. Like the Bible, I know it’s true! I have tested its teachings!
5 Stars This Book Has Changed My Life!
Without this book and what it represents I would be lost in life. It has given me meaning and purpose to continue through hard times. Through it I have come to know that God knows and loves me, that I am His son and that He has a plan for all of us: We are here on earth to learn and to grow to be more like Him. But he knew we would make mistakes and sin and therefore, He provided us a way to be forgiven through the eternal sacrifice of His son, Jesus Christ. By repenting and accepting Christ as our Savior we can be purified and return to live with our Father in Heaven after this life. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God as recieved and written by prophets of old in the Americas. I know that it was translated by the power of God through Joseph Smith and through Joseph Smith, God established His true church in our day: The Church of jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
